Metal Scrape Sound Effects

Metal Scrape sound effects that set your teeth on edge. Blades dragged across steel, big metal parts hauled along the floor, metal moaning and squealing under pressure, and the long, shrieking scrapes horror leans on. Some are recorded with contact microphones for a raw, close sound. Others come from blacksmiths' workshops and melee weapon sessions. Harsh and very useful.

A metal scrape is all about speed and pressure. Drag slowly with weight behind it and you get a low groan. Go faster and it climbs into a squeal. Contact microphones pick up the vibration inside the metal rather than the sound in the air, which gives a darker, stranger result for horror and sci-fi. Weapon scrapes suit swords being drawn and blades grinding together. For related sounds there's Metal Friction, Metal Resonance and Metal Impact. Trailer editors and horror game teams use plenty of it.
