EMERGENCY Sound Effects

EMERGENCY sound effects for when everything goes wrong at once. Loudly. Police and ambulance sirens passing through traffic, pager alerts calling crews out, air raid sirens winding up over a city and facility alarms announcing a lockdown or a breach. There are officers shouting commands too. Some are recorded out in the street, while others are designed for trailers and sci-fi.

Sirens change with distance and movement more than most sounds. Movement changes everything. A siren coming towards you sounds higher than it really is and drops as it passes, while the buildings of a street throw it around, so recordings made out in traffic sound far more convincing than a clean siren with reverb added. Different countries use different patterns, and a Yelp or a long wail tells an audience where they are before anyone speaks. The designed alarms go the other way, built for a Breach on a spaceship or a facility lockdown, where nobody cares what country it is. Action films and disaster scenes are full of them.
