Crowd Sound Effects

Crowd sound effects for scenes that need more people than you could ever fit in a booth. Football stadiums roaring, audiences laughing at a joke, armies charging into battle and the murmur of a casino floor late at night. Boxing fans on their feet. Some crowds are a wall of noise. Others are just people quietly getting on with things.

Crowds split into reactions and backgrounds. Reactions are the big moments, a cheer when the ball goes in or a burst of laughter after a punchline, and they need to land exactly on cue. Backgrounds are the steady bed, the Walla of a busy room or the low roar of a Stadium before kick-off, and they need to run for ages without a voice sticking out. The battle crowds here were recorded with real people in the open, charging and retreating, which gives a scale that layering a few actors never quite reaches. For live sport there's plenty more in Football. Mix both kinds and a crowd starts to feel alive.
