Cocking Sound Effects

Cocking sound effects, the click that comes right before the shot. Pistols, revolvers, rifles and wartime weapons cocked and handled, with dry fire, magazines in and out and cylinders opening alongside. There's a camera in here too. An old film camera's shutter gets cocked before every frame, and that mechanism comes with switch clicks and lens cap foley of its own.

Cocking is pure mechanism, and the handling libraries here record it gun by gun: cocking, Dry Fire, magazine changes, scope adjustments and cylinder work, so the action can match the weapon on screen. The wartime set goes further, with handling, cloth and mechanical foley in many variations, which stops a long reload from repeating itself. Shots and rapid fire sit alongside in some libraries. Handy. A cock and a shot from the same gun hold together better than a mix of sources, and Magazine covers the reload in between. The film camera recordings are a different animal, suited to period pieces and photo shoot close ups where the click comes from a shutter.
