Air Brake Sound Effects

Air Brake sound effects, the big hiss when a truck or bus lets the pressure go. It comes off heavy vehicles here, from a vintage fire truck with its diesel idling to city buses in and around a busy terminal. Lots of hiss. Street traffic fills in around them.

An air brake is a heavy vehicle breathing out. You hear it when a Bus stops at the kerb, sharp enough to cut through traffic, and it tells an audience something big has arrived. Inside the bus it comes with door beeps, engine vibration and passengers chatting, while the terminal adds station announcements, which together make a full ambience. The fire truck brings vintage sirens and a guttural Diesel Engine, and the working Truck side has a skip loader dumping containers and rattling its chains. Semis recorded inside and out round it off.
