Vocal Sound Effects

Vocal sound effects without the words. Grunts and breaths from actors fighting and getting hurt. Little babbling voices for game text boxes, the kind that chatter along as a character's line types out. Cats meowing, gulls crying over a beach. Anything a throat can do that isn't a sentence, more or less.

The biggest use of vocal effects is effort. Every jump and every hit in a game wants a breath or a Grunt behind it, and players notice straight away when a character lifts something heavy in silence. The libraries here have big sets of these from male and female actors, with quieter Breathing for the moments in between. There's a lighter side too. Babbling dialogue voices give game characters personality without anyone recording real lines, a trick old RPGs used all the time. Cats and birds round it out.
