System Sound Effects

System sound effects for the machine talking back. Alerts and error tones for a sci-fi HUD, and glitches for when the whole system falls over. Voices too. Intercom voice lines read out status updates and warnings. And one real system: a factory cooling unit, all metallic hums and trickling water.

A system sound marks a change of state, a Target locked or a scan finished. Most of these come from designed interface sets where the confirm and the error belong to one family, so a heads-up display holds together as one piece of kit. Data bursts and typing fill the gaps while something loads. The glitch libraries break things on purpose, with digital transitions and tape artifacts for a crash or a hacked screen. Intercom voice lines handle the spoken side, status updates and warnings for a ship or a base. The cooling system is the odd one out, a real machine at the back of a factory, and its drones and hums make good raw material for a server room or an engine deck.
