Spike Sound Effects

Spike sound effects, mostly the kind that come up out of the floor. Spike traps springing in a dungeon, alongside darts, pitfalls and swinging blades, and towers firing in a tower defense game. Then a few other spikes: a volleyball smashed over the net, and sudden electrical spikes and glitches, which are sharp in a different way.

A spike trap is usually built from a few quick pieces: a click or a pressure plate, a metallic scrape as the spikes shoot up, then a hit if someone's standing there. The Trap sets and game libraries give you those parts ready made, and the metal and fight libraries fill in the gaps with scrapes and a nasty impact for the unlucky. Some games add a Poison hiss for spikes that do more than pierce. The volleyball recordings are another sport entirely, crowd and all.
