Keypad Sound Effects

Keypad sound effects for punching in a code. Phones old and new get their dialling and their buttons recorded, landlines and mobiles both. Firm presses. Rapid taps. Mechanical button sets cover a range of presses for a control panel, computer keyboards sit alongside, and the sci-fi interface sounds give you the futuristic version, for a door code on a spaceship.

A keypad scene is usually a close-up on a finger, so each press wants its own sound. The phone libraries record several variations per device, which stops a code from sounding like the same button pressed over and over, and for the older way of dialling there's Rotary Phone. The mechanical buttons give tactile clicks and firm presses for a safe or an alarm panel. Sci-fi keypads come from interface sets with display and scanning sounds, so entering a code can lead straight into a scan and the activation that follows. Ringing and vibration are in the phone sets too, for when the call comes back.
