Grease Gun Sound Effects

Grease Gun sound effects from the real wartime submachine gun. Single shots, doubles and triples, then bursts short and long, recorded from right beside the gun out to the far end of the range. A slow, chunky rattle. Cocking and handling foley come with it, plus more from a sweltering outdoor range.

Distance does a lot of the work with a gun like this. The close mics give you the mechanism and the punch, the far ones give you the shot as it carries down the range, so the sound can sit wherever the camera does. Heavier automatic fire lives in Machine Gun. This slower rattle suits war films and wartime shooters, where the guns need to sound of their period.
