Gallop Sound Effects

Gallop sound effects, the fastest gait a horse has, recorded across all sorts of ground. The horse libraries take it step by step, from walks and trots up to the full gallop, then stops and jumps. Neighs and whinnies come in between. Some sets add the tack and the stable, and a medieval collection brings galloping horses into battle.

A gallop rarely starts or ends at full speed. That's where the transitions come in. Walks, trots and gallops sit side by side, and the stop transitions bring a horse to a halt without a jump in the sound. Different terrains keep the hooves matched to the ground on screen, and the interior and exterior recordings help when a horse goes from the stable out into the open. After the run, a Snort or a head shake gives the horse its breath back, and Saddle handling covers the rider climbing down. It suits chase scenes and racing as much as a quiet ride in a period drama.
