Four-Stroke Sound Effects

Four-Stroke sound effects from mopeds up to superbikes. A racing superbike revs and idles on a dyno, and a moped and a quad bike get their engines and exhausts recorded on separate mics. Snow and city too. A snowmobile is recorded inside and out, and a vintage police car brings passes and its siren. Rickshaws and a vintage motorbike turn up as well.

A four-stroke fires on every other turn of the crank, and it's the engine behind most modern motorbikes and quads. Splitting engine and exhaust onto separate channels, as the moped and quad recordings do, lets you push the mechanical side for an onboard shot or the exhaust for a pass-by. The superbike was recorded indoors on a dyno, so its Throttle work, from idle up to high revs, comes with no road noise at all. The snowmobile adds movement inside and out for a chase across the snow. The police car brings its siren and mechanical sounds, which suits a period cop show.
