Debuff Sound Effects

Debuff sound effects for when the enemy curses you, or you curse them. Sinking, souring spells for slows, poisons and weakness, the kind that tell a player straight away that something bad just happened. Nasty little sounds. They come from fantasy and RPG magic sets, alongside heals and power-ups, plus a few retro game versions with a chunky pixel feel.

A good debuff sound is the mirror of a Buff. Where a buff rises and sparkles, a debuff drops, darkens or wobbles, so the player reads it as bad news without looking. The magic libraries here cover both sides, white and black magic, elemental spells from dark to wind, critical hits and misses, which makes it easy to keep buffs and debuffs in the same family. Deck builders and JRPG sets tie them into card plays and battle menus. Retro sets give the same idea as simple bleeps. RPGs, card games and mobile battlers use them constantly.
