Casing Sound Effects

Casing sound effects for the brass that hits the ground after the shot. Spent shells dropping and rolling across all sorts of surfaces, concrete and stone among them, in calibres from antique pistols up to tanks. Busy little sounds. There's gun handling and mechanical action here as well, with layered metal sounds to put under a reload.

Casings usually get added afterwards, because the real ones land wherever they like on set. Here they come as separate drops and rolls on different surfaces, which matters when a gunfight moves from concrete to stone. For automatic fire, a stream of shells works better built from separate drops than from a loop, so each casing lands a little differently. Whole guns sit alongside, from a revolver recorded with its shots and handling to a stack of rifles and Submachine Gun recordings. Ammo belts are here too, for the heavier guns.
