Manual Transmission Sound Effects

Manual Transmission sound effects for driving where somebody actually changes gear. Everyday cars pottering round town at the speed limit, stopping and starting, coasting and braking. Then a vintage car with its gearshifts caught onboard, engine and exhaust rising and falling between gears. Up a gear, down a gear. It suits period dramas and ordinary street scenes alike.

A manual gearbox gives a drive its rhythm: revs climb, drop at the shift and climb again. The vintage car's onboard mics sit on the engine, the exhaust and inside the cabin, so every change can be heard from the driver's seat. Another car adds start ups, shut downs and a horn, with every Pull Up and pull off, and the everyday takes fill in the turns and idles. There are doors and dashboard switches from the vintage car as well, for the moments before the engine starts.
