Dunk Sound Effects

Dunk sound effects, the wet kind. Things plunged into water and pulled back out, recorded above the surface and below it at the same time. Cloth, metal and all sorts of containers. Splash and gloop. If you came for a basketball slam, that's a different sound, but for anything going under, start here.

Recording above and below the waterline at once is the trick. The top mic catches the splash, and a hydrophone hears the muffled plunge and the bubbles. Blend them and the camera can go under and come back up, which is why Emerge sounds sit close by. Good for a character ducking under or something lost overboard.
