Cartoon Foley sound effects, where every footstep has a spring in it. Boings and squeaks, plus the whizz of a cartoon arrow flying past. Silly voices too. Crashes as well, for when it all falls over. It's the classic animation kit, the stuff that used to be made with springs and rubber bands, cut short and snappy.
Cartoon foley is real foley with the volume turned up on the joke. A walk becomes a run of bouncy steps and every move lands right on the frame, usually with a Boing or a Bounce doing the heavy lifting. Timing does the rest. Kids games use them for characters and menus, and animators use them on shorts.
