Radio imagers are a specialized breed. They create the identifiers that run between songs, the promos that advance the station, and local commercials.

Identification and promotion is the primary purpose of radio imaging. Stations that run nothing but music and no identification are simply somebody else’s playlist. But if you’re a commercial station, listeners need to know who you are. Someone once said, stations play the same records, so the difference between them is what they’re doing between the songs. As an imager, your resources are many. There is your own ability and drive to put out the best possible product. There are voices, and if you voice yourself, it’s another feather in your cap.
